From the floor of the New York Stock Exchange to poolside in Las Vegas, Matt Heckman as provided the music for clients across the country.  Long before his fingers ever touched a cross-fader though, music played has played a fundamental role. Piano lessons at age 5, followed by an advanced study of percussion for the better part of a decade, Matt learned early on the fundamentals of music. Whether his headphones were attached to an FM radio, tape player, CD player or iPod, the music was always on.  Scrapping together summer earnings, Matt bought his first pair of turntables at age 18.  Over the next two years, before ever playing a serious gig, Matt spent thousands of hours perfecting his skills and evolving his eclectic, but unique style. From his internship at Atlantic Records, to classes in entrepreneurial business at Skidmore College, he prepared for life as a DJ.

In the beginning, no gig was too small or obscure. From hole-in-the-wall bars to house parties, work was work and an important learning experience.  Opening for big names, Matt watched seasoned pros rock the crowd. As his experience grew, so did the opportunities.  Years later, Matt’s name is synonymous in nightlife. Now a common face at the clubs and as one of the “go-to” DJs for discerning corporate and private clientele, Matt’s record-spinning abilities have taken him around the country for work. To date, Matt has spun at some of NYC’s premier nightlife venues (1Oak, Avenue, Hudson Terrace, Kiss & Fly) as well as top-level engagements in Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Atlantic City, Washington D.C., Miami, and the Hamptons for clients like: Russell Simmons, Hugh Grant, Katie Lee Joel, Evian, Nike, MTV, Hermes, Intermix, Vogue, Maxim and American Express.
